Ellen Page has criticized Chris Pratt for being an affectionate member of a notoriously “anti-LGBT” church.

The “Guardian of the Galaxy” star, 39, spoke about his faith during an interview with Stephen Colbert on Thursday and confirmed he is a follower of Hillson, a chain of churches operating across the United States, which is known for not allowing openly-gay personalities to hold “power” positions within its ranks.

Pratt also recounted his own experience with the “Daniel Fast”, a ritual named after the Book of Daniel, popular among certain Christian circles and said that he has met his fiance, Catherine Schwarzenegger, during one of the meetings held by the church.

His words were not appreciated by Page, 31, who came out as gay back in 2014 and has been an active supporter of LGBT rights ever since then.

The actress tweeted “OK um, but his church follows anti-LGBTQ, why not address that too?”

Page, who received an Academy Award nomination in 2007 for her debut role as Juno in the eponymous movie, has recently tied the knot with Emma Porter and is known for speaking up in favor of the LGBT community.

During an interview with British newspaper “The Guardian”, she said: “Gay marriage is not a debate and the media needs to stop claiming it is. We just need to try to educate ourselves and learn to speak up.”
