Captain Marvel, the latest instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has made a vast impact on the box office already, even before the official release date.
The pre-sale tickets for the movie, made available for purchase back in January, have surpassed those of other superheroes blockbusters such as Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Deadpool at the same point in time of the Fandango sales cycle.
According to the ticketing company, Captain Marvel is the second fastest pre-selling superhero film focusing on the story of the origin of the main character (in other words, not a sequel or an ensemble movie). It is expected to open up to a staggering $120 million, which could potentially increase in the next few days before release.
