Tania Mallet, who was a model and was best known for her role as Tilly Masterson in the third film of the Bond Franchise, Goldfinger, has passed away.

The model was 77 years old. No cause of death has been reported as of yet. The official 007 Twitter account confirmed her death by posting that they were saddened to report the model’s death and gave their condolences to Tania’s family and friends in these saddened times.

Tilly Masterson ended up being the model’s only major foray into acting followed by a brief return in The New Avengers in 1976. She made most of her career as a model for various magazines including Vogue.

She is the first cousin of Helen Mirren, the first Academy Award-winning actress.

She said that it was one of these photoshoots that actually led to the director for Goldfinger Albert Broccoli to cast her as the Bond girl alongside Sean Connery. She played the role of Tilly Masterson who was seeking justice for the death of her sister Jill, as reported by Vanity Fair. The vengeful beauty was then killed by Oddjob who was one of Goldfinger’s henchmen.
The star didn’t stick around in Hollywood and went back to modeling because she found the atmosphere very restrictive during film shooting and felt that she couldn’t live her life like that. She maintained that she was much more comfortable in a small studio for modeling photo shoots where there were only two other people with her and not a huge bustle as in case of film shooting.

Tania Mallet will surely be remembered and missed by all her friends, family and fans.
