Amy Adams to Star in Netflix Movie 'Hillbilly Elegy'

According to a report, Hillbilly Elegy is now directed by Ron Howard. The shape of water writer Vanessa Taylor will adapt the screenplay. Haley Bennett, Glenn Close, and Gabriel Basso are also in the cast.

In the story, Vance grows up among the working-class “hillbillies”. After enlisting in the Marine Corps and serving in Iraq, he graduates from Ohio State University and Yale Law School. He becomes a successful venture capitalist, contributes to the National Review and joins CNN as a political contributor.

The film describes his upbringing and family background in a family from a small town in Ohio. He writes about a family history of poverty and low-paying, physical jobs that have since disappeared or worsened in their guarantees.

Also a comparison of life from his perspective after leaving that area and life.

This project is gaining a great deal of attention as it adds yet another supremely talented person in Adams. In addition to Howard and Adams, the film landed screenwriter Vanessa Taylor, who penned 2018’s Academy Award for Best Picture, The Shape of Water.

Adams was seen in the limited series “Sharp Objects”, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She followed that up with her Oscar-nominated performance for Best Supporting Actress as Lynne Cheney in the Dick Cheney biopic “Vice’’.

She will next be seen in the adaptation of the “Woman in the Window”, which co-stars Julianne Moore and is directed by Joe Wright.
