The CW’s Riverdale said a final goodbye to the late actor Luke Perry on Wednesday’s episode as his final scene which was shot before his death got officially aired.

The actor, who played the role of Fred Andrews shared a sweet moment, in his final scene, with his on-screen son Archie (KJ Apa). There are only three more episodes left of Riverdale’s season 3 to end but it is still yet to be seen how his character will be written off the series.

Luke was seen in two scenes on Wednesday’s episode including the scene with a sweet and supportive conversation between father and son. Luke’s character Fred was seen comforting Archie about the death of Randy Ronson who died after Archie knocked him out of the ring on last week’s episode. Archie told Fred that he blames himself for Randy’s death to which Fred reassured him that it was not his fault and says, which was also his last words in the show, “You’re innocent.”

The CW’s “Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced on Twitter prior to the show airing about the final appearance.

Luke Perry passed away on March 4 at the age of 52 after suffering a massive stroke. There were several episodes pre-shoot before his death allowing fans to gradually adjust to the loss.

Perry joined the cast of Riverdale in 2017, becoming a regular character as Fred Andrews, father of Archie Andrews.
