Hailee Steinfeld is about to release a new single titled “Afterlife” on 19th September for the upcoming Apple TV+ series ‘Dickson’. Hailee is the executive producer and cast member of the series. At the Tribeca TV Festival, the show was first screened, where Hailee in a statement about the song said: “This is a song I’m incredibly proud of, and I feel like after embodying this character, I have a more fearless approach to my writing.”
In ‘Dickson’ Hailee Steinfeld plays poet Emily Dickson. the series is one of Apple’s initial releases which include ‘For All Mankind’, ‘The Morning Show’ starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carrell and ‘See’ starring the ‘Aquaman’ actor Jason Momoa. Hailee in a recent Instagram post captioned a picture of herself “what’s coming is so much better than what’s gone 🥳”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Hailee Steinfeld spoke about the impact the post made as she said “She didn’t belong at that time. She had a very modern way of thinking and acting,I truly feel she paved the way for young female voices today.”
Entertainment Weekly recently reported that Wiz Khalifa will guest star as the personification of ‘Death’. In an interview with EW the writer and producer of the show Alena Smith spoke about getting Wiz Khalifa to be part of the series as she said “We literally put Wiz Khalifa on our tone board as this would be the dream, like he’s the aesthetic we want Death to have and then somehow we magically got Wiz Khalifa, so that was incredible”
Emily Dickson in the 1800s wasn’t understood for the way she was and would perhaps be better understood today given to the present social atmosphere and increased acceptance of unconventional ways of being.
